PRESS RELEASE Sturgis: Salute to our Troops Receives Telly Award
Alan Ames and Associates and Texas Roadhouse Live are pleased to announce that their production, “A Homeland Salute to our Troops: Live from Sturgis Bike Week” has received the top award in its category: Live Concert Events in this year’s 2008 Telly Awards competition. The program which was recorded over a two week period at the 2007 Sturgis Bike Week in Sturgis South Dakota features a live two-way satellite video salute and shout out to the Iron Horse Brigade which was stationed at Camp Tajid in Faluja, Iraq, and staged at the world famous Broken Spoke Saloon on August 5th 2007 in downtown Sturgis.
The program which will be released on the Armed Forces Network this Summer featured many of the activities during the event including celebrity rides and rallies, shout outs from babes and bikers alike culminating with featured musical performances from Slow Ride, Eddie Money, Tanya Tucker and WAR featuring Lonnie Jordan.
The production was underwritten and Executive Produced by Mr. Jerry Prince, disabled Vietnam Veteran whose undying support and enthusiasm made this program possible. “It was the least I could do to show my respect and support to our servicemen and women who stand in harms way every day protecting our freedom and democracy,” Mr. Prince said. “This has nothing to do with politics, and I pray for the safe return of all our troops world-wide.”
Producer-directors Alan Ames and Jason Esparza of Texas Roadhouse Live, the production company which produced the program, are committed to provide additional future two-way broadcasts to our troops. “These events are a token of our gratitude for the hard work that our troops are doing and hopefully gives them a brief moment of home in the midst of their perilous duty abroad,” said Mr. Ames.
