"Mercutio," written by Cristophver R, is an existential adaptation of of Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet." The play takes place when Mercutio walks off Shakespeare's stage and onto his own.

In the spirit of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead", "Mercutio - The King of Cats," provides the audience with an intimate and poignant perspective on the underlying issues behind the families and players of Shakespeare's most famous play. For the first time in theatre history, Mr. Rreveals the socio-economic and political undercurrents of 15th century Verona, and the impact of the Marco Polo trade route, "the silk road," which revolutionized Italian commerce and changed the political face of Europe.

This character driven "Tour De Force" unveils the background and motivation which divides the Capulets from Montagues, providing insight into the circumstances which tore "two households, both alike in dignity" into the tattered threads of death and disaster.
